summary

Pentagram is looking for a mid-level to senior graphic designer with a focus on data visualization and UX design. Those with at least 3 years of work experience are encouraged to apply. about the job

You will work as part of a small interdisciplinary team in Pentagram’s NY studio, led by partner Giorgia Lupi, focusing on a mix of identity, campaign, interactive, and 3D projects—all with a data storytelling component. You can see a selection of our past work here.

We are looking for a start date in early Q1 2025 (between mid-end of January if possible).

We partner with a wide range of clients—from large corporations to small start-ups to universities, foundations, and think tanks—often with a focus on social impact. Our work is highly bespoke, and no two projects are the same. Although we work on traditional brand identity design, we are most often creating some kind of digital experience, whether an interactive tool or full website. We’re looking for a creative thinker who can respond to a brief with unique and surprising design concepts, and then have the chops to help bring those concepts to fruition. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, but prior agency experience is preferred.

The role is based in our New York City studio in Union Square. Our office is on a hybrid model, with 3 days a week spent in the office.

you are
  • A trained graphic designer with strong skills in typography, layout and art direction
  • A lover of dataviz, with experience working with data. While you don’t need to have deep technical data science skills, you should be able to visualize quantitative and qualitative information found in spreadsheets and do basic data transformations or analyses.
  • A natural storyteller, comfortable digesting complex information and articulating it in visual, accessible, and engaging ways.
  • Highly proficient in Figma with experience creating component-based UX/UI design systems. Understanding of front-end coding or experience using Webflow or similar site builders is a plus.
  • Ability to work directly with clients and collaborators, ideally as a project lead, with an eye to timelines and deadlines. Presentation skills and the ability to talk through ideas and feedback with the team and clients are essential.
